Group therapy offers unique ways of reconnecting with others who are going through the same thing… but it also offers us a chance to reconnect with ourselves in a different way.
Groups are particularly helpful for anyone having a hard time connecting with themselves and with other people. Sometimes, we notice ourselves engaging on a surface level but delving beyond that is hard for us. We may even be sabotaging our relationships even when we want more connections.
Groups give us a space for finding ways of relating to people differently and getting positive feedback from others that we are not alone in our struggles and also that we are valued and worthy. They offer us a chance for finding others who are in the same boat and connecting with us so that we can begin to feel supported and cared about, make meaningful connections, and build our self confidence and self worth once again – or for the first time. In groups, we have a great opportunity for learning new tools to navigate our social concerns.
I offer a number of different groups because I have seen the documented special healing power created in a group.
