Most of us find ourselves rushing through our day-to-day lives, never having a moment to slow down, catch our breath, and enjoy the things we’ve worked hard to build in our lives. We end up finding our bodies aching and sore, our minds racing, and we feel overwhelmed.
For many of us, we feel like we can become paralyzed and restless, knowing that we want *something* but we have no idea what it is or even how to figure it out.
Mindfulness refers to a practice that focuses on awareness of the present experience without judgment. This involves paying attention to each event experienced in the here and now with a non-judgmental, non-reactive and accepting attitude that allows us to fully experience our lives freed from judgment. It can bring a respite and peace into the mad frenzy of our daily lives. It can also bring clarity when we feel lost, stuck, or frozen.
It can give us a moment of escape from our go-go-go routine and even offer us something to help feel refreshed and ready to face our lives again.
Mindfulness uses tools and skills to help enhance our natural ability to LIVE in the difficult life situations we face. It helps to clear our mind from daily worries and focus on helping us to build something we want that will best serve our needs.
The Mindfulness Matters meets on Monday evenings for a 10 week round of each series so that it can give you something to look forward to for helping to clear your head for your week and refocus on the things that matter in your life.
